Snowflake Gala presented by Artists’ Junction
Artists’ Junction presents their annual showcase for the visual and performing arts, the Snowflake Gala, on Sunday, February 8th from 2pm until 6pm at Mulberry Art Studios. The Snowflake Gala provides community exposure for emerging artists and a chance for experienced artists to help newcomers experience interacting with their art in the community. The Gala also serves as a fundraising event for Artists' Junction and provides a portion of our annual operating expenses. It is a ticketed event and is open to the public. Tickets are $7 per person, $15 for a family of 3 – 6 living in the same household and $20 for a family of 6 living in the same household.
Scheduled to appear at this year’s Gala are artist John Walls, the dance ministry of Valerie Henry and the Dance Discovery of Lancaster, along with other performing and visual artists from the Lancaster area. The afternoon will include music, dance, painting and refreshments. New to the Gala this year will be a hands-on art table for the children and the young-at-heart. Another new addition to the 2009 Snowflake Gala will be an exhibit area to highlight ministries in South Central Pennsylvania that use the arts to engage people in the pursuit and worship of God.
Artists’ Junction is a faith-integrated, nonprofit organization dedicated to restoring artists and the arts in the Kingdom of God. Started as a small group of artists in Lititz in 2002, Artists’ Junction has grown to a be a community of 60 artists in our own area, meeting in several groups across our county. Artists’ Junction Gatherings are regular, informal times of coming together for camaraderie and enlivening discussion that encourage and challenge the artist. The Gatherings provide an "artists in community" experience that offers a non-threatening atmosphere for building relationships and seeking God and His Kingdom. Artists are encouraged to come just as they, bring work to share, and questions and concerns about faith in Christ as artists. These Gatherings are open events, free of charge. |
