W.T.FRACS BURNIN?, a collection of artwork from local artist Fractal King, will be on display at Mulberry Art Studios throughout the month of September. A First Friday Opening Reception is planned for September 5 from 5pm until 8pm at the gallery, located in historic downtown Lancaster at 19-21 N Mulberry St. Visitors who wish to see the artwork outside of First Friday can schedule a viewing by emailing Stephanie.MulberryArt@gmail.com.
This collection is made up of fractal burnt images from the use of 3000amps of electricity. The artist's brother first introduced him to this artform in 2019-20, and he says, "To be completely honest, my passion for fractal burning became drastically more intense as my civil rights were being violated." Fractal wood burning involves using high-voltage electricity to burn lightning-shaped patterns into wood, and is extremely dangerous. In fact, at least 33 people have died while attempting it between 2017-2022, while many others have been severely injured. Viewing the artwork, however, is entirely safe- so join us at Mulberry Art Studios this September to take in this incredibly unique artwork.
